Arctic Bay lost another elder on Saturday morning. Leah Levi was in her early seventies and a sweety, with a beautiful smile.
She lived for awhile in one of my favourite places in the Arctic, Dundas Harbour, and once when I had gotten some photos from a member who used to work there I took them over. She positively bubbled while looking at pictures from the old days. She had an infectious laugh.
I’ll miss that laugh, and her driving by on the snowmobile at 3 kms/hr.
