Well I’m back at home. Actually I’ve been back now since last Thursday, but I’m only now getting up to speed. Writing has been hard, I’ve tried to write a couple of articles and have re worked and re written one several times. But I’d best get at it, I’ve a lot to talk about.
It was great getting home, as much as I enjoyed the traveling I missed Leah and the kids terribly. It didn’t help that Hilary got a virus the week before I got home and was one miserable little girl. She is finally on the mend, and finally smiling and laughing again. It’s hard to be the comforting father when you’re on the other side of the ocean.
But it’s time to get back blogging and catching up. For now, here is a picture of the sunset on Easter monday, the 9th of April 2007. It was taken at Nine Elms Commonwealth War Cemetery, the final resting place of my Grandfather’s best friend, killed moments after leaving the trenches the 9th of April 1917.

I’m glad to see that you are posting again. I hope that you had a good trip.
Welcome home brother, your grandfather would be very proud of you.
Welcome back Clare. I spent the day before the Easter weekend counting Sage-grouse and was able to listen to a good deal of coverage on Vimy from CBC. It was powerful for me to listen on the radio so I can only imagine what it must have been like to be there, especially with your connection. Finding the right words must be next to impossible. Good luck. I suspect your brother is right. John
